As a sociologist, I was taught that in other to impact the people with any programme that you intend to cite in their area, you have to conduct what is known as environmental impact assessment (EIA). I thought it was only sociologists that were taught this until the Abia state government came up with the education for employment ( E4E ) programme, the much I know is that neither my governor, his deputy nor Endi Ezengwa studied sociology. My curiosity was doused when I remembered that my Prof in the department of sociology, Prof Martin Ifeanacho is an Abian and is passionate about his state. The Abia state E4E programme is a stitch in time which saves nine. It's high time we reduce our reliance on certificate as the likes of China and India have all developed through their technical knowledge and skills.
